Bart van Dongen (1959) is a composer, pianist, and conceptual artist. His work explores the intersection of composition, improvisation, performance, and conceptual art. In 2007, he received the biennial Brouwerij Cultuurprijs from the city of ’s-Hertogenbosch. The jury praised the distinctive way in which composition, improvisation, and concept are inseparably intertwined in his work.
Van Dongen is a driving force within the music scene of the Dutch province of North Brabant and the initiator of numerous projects that continuously explore new musical forms and sonic possibilities. As a pianist and composer, he has collaborated with musicians from the worlds of jazz, pop, theatre, and contemporary music, both in the Netherlands and internationally. He also curates and organises concerts and artistic encounters at the Paviljoen voor Ongehoorde Muziek (POM) in Eindhoven.
His work is characterised by curiosity, collaboration, and a commitment to connecting diverse musical disciplines. For Electric Grand, he collaborates with visual artist Antoon Versteegde.

Bart van Dongen (1959) is componist, pianist en conceptueel kunstenaar. Zijn werk beweegt zich op het snijvlak van compositie, improvisatie, performance en conceptuele kunst. In 2007 ontving hij de tweejaarlijkse Brouwerij Cultuurprijs van de stad ’s-Hertogenbosch. De jury prees de unieke manier waarop compositie, improvisatie en concept in zijn werk een onlosmakelijke eenheid vormen.
Van Dongen is een drijvende kracht binnen de Brabantse muziekscene en initiator van talrijke projecten waarin hij voortdurend op zoek gaat naar nieuwe muzikale vormen en klankwerelden. Als pianist en componist werkte hij samen met musici uit de jazz-, pop-, theater- en hedendaagse muziek, zowel nationaal als internationaal. Daarnaast organiseert en programmeert hij concerten en artistieke ontmoetingen vanuit het Paviljoen voor Ongehoorde Muziek (POM) in Eindhoven.
Zijn werk kenmerkt zich door nieuwsgierigheid, samenwerking en het verbinden van uiteenlopende muzikale disciplines. Voor Electric Grand werkt hij samen met beeldend kunstenaar Antoon Versteegde.
